- willow has a set of five stairs leading to the front and four stairs to the back entrance. (securing funding for a ramp or lift is in the works + updates will be posted here.)
- if physical accessibility prevents you from being able to access the space, please use the code FREESHIP to receive free delivery within Winnipeg from the online store.
- we will be doing routine pop-ups at physically accessible spaces. stay tuned on social media or sign up for the newsletter to make sure you get the info.
- most in-person events will have a virtual component so people can attend. in the case of workshops, we’re committed to offering it in a way that it can be fully engaged with. someone will be designated to ensure that questions or comments are relayed to the speaker.
- there is one customer spot in the parking lot in the back. please email us before your visit if you need this to be reserved for you. the spot is about six feet from the stairs that lead to the back entrance. a new gryd lot just went up a bit down the lane which allows you to reserve spots. more details on this to come.
- there is a public genderless washroom with free hygiene products, condoms, and a sharps disposal box. it is, as of right now, only accessible by a flight of stairs.
- free wifi and lots of seating (variety of sizes). no purchase necessary to use the space!
physical accessibility
- music is played gently through the week. on friday or saturday, we might throw on something dancier, but never loudly.
- the space is naturally bright and there are lamps around the space to turn on for extra light if you need.
visual + sensory accessibility
- zero tolerance for hate, harassment, cultural appropriation, and discrimination. willow will not work with or host someone with a history of abuse or violence - physical, emotional, sexual, or discriminatory - unless they have gone through a restorative process with the survivor(s). willow reserves the right to remove or ban patrons if necessary on a case-by-case basis. the person harmed will be consulted on how to proceed when possible. if it’s beyond what willow can mediate, a third party with the proper tools will be involved.
- there is no police or security presence at the shop. in the case of an emergency or need for help, crisis support + community members/orgs will be contacted before police whenever possible.
